Structure & Modules

  • Day 1: Food Safety Culture Basics

On Day 1, you'll explore why Food Safety Culture is now a regulatory requirement and how it addresses the gaps left by traditional food safety management systems. The session tackles common misconceptions, introduces the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Position Paper, and outlines practical ways to begin building a positive food safety culture.

Through real-life examples, you'll examine how subcultures can form within factory settings—and how greater alignment and consistency can be achieved across teams and departments.

  • Day 2: Food Safety Culture – Broader Considerations

On Day 2, you'll explore the practical, human, and organisational factors that shape food safety culture in real-world settings. You'll learn how to use metrics and KPIs to support cultural insight—not replace it—and discover how training, audits, and root cause analysis can be redesigned to reflect actual behaviours. With insights from scientific observation and the  Food and Agriculture Organisation Foresight Report, you'll gain a future-focused perspective on the evolving challenges in food safety.

Finally, we reflect on how to build and sustain a “Just Culture”—an approach that empowers people, supports learning, and drives continuous improvement in everyday food safety practice.
