About : Why should you join the Explore programme?

Our short online course is designed to inspire, be flexible, and easy to join and complete! With four comprehensive modules, we equip you with the essential knowledge needed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship skills. From identifying the problem you aim to solve to securing funding for your startup, our course guides the basics of launching a new venture.

At the end of this course you will be able to articulate what your set of innovation and entrepreneurship skills are and explore new career opportunities.

  • Appreciate the value of opportunities that arise
  • Identify, develop and act on entrepreneurial opportunities
  • Articulate a food system problem that can be addressed by a sustainable solution
  • Evaluate a target market in order to assess the potential for a product innovation

  • Implement actions to initiate the deliverance of an innovative solution

Structure and Modules : Flexibility is at the core of our course structure.

Take the course at your own pace, fitting it around your current commitments. Just remember, completion by December 31, 2024, is necessary to earn your certificate.

But that's not all! Upon completion of the Inspire Explore course, you'll have the chance to further your journey with Inspire. Explore. Compete. Here, your presentations will be evaluated by a Jury Panel, with cash prizes awarded to the top presentations in each of the three categories

Food systems

  • Apply basic systems analysis techniques to describe the food system.
  • Identify dominant sustainability challenges for the food system.
  • Recognise how innovations can contribute to achieving societal impact.

Entrepeneurship

  • Appraise and articulate the value of opportunities.
  • Identify and use relevant resources to support the creation of social and environmental value.
  • Implement effective actions to support the creation of sustainability impacts.

Problem solving

  • Analyse relevant aspects of the problem space to inform creative thought.
  • Use basic methods to generate new ideas and to assess their validity.
  • Contribute to co-creation processes to develop sustainable solutions.

Critical thinking

  • Collect, analyse and report information and data to support the generation of new ideas and approaches.
  • Recognise the importance of ethical goals.

Communication

  • Identify relevant stakeholders and their prominent concerns.
  • Recognise the importance of inclusive dialogue in food systems transformation.
  • Implement basic communication methods.

They will be introduced to the basics of entrepreneurship which can be used to build a solid foundation in developing the skills they will need to support their entrepreneurial journey.

Participants will also receive an EIT Food certificate at the end of this course.

This course Inspire. Explore. Compete aims to equip you with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in innovation and entrepreneurship related to food systems. It is the continuation of the journey initiated by completing the Inspire Explore course (4 modules), which allows you to apply the knowledge and skills you’ve developed.

To win, all you need is to prepare an outstanding slide deck focused on one of the three EIT Food Missions:

The top presentations from each mission will advance to the final round, competing for the ultimate prize during a live online event at the beginning of 2025.
