About : This is a practical course
By the end, you should have all the tools to create well-considered learning outcomes. You will also be well prepared to design aligned learning activities to help learners achieve these outcomes.
This is not a historical unpacking of learning design nor will it dwell on semantic differences between outcome and objectives. You can look that up in your own time! This course is laser-focused on making your "EIT Label for non-degree education and training" application as good as it can be… and that starts with aligned learner outcomes, appropriate for your course context (purpose, target audience, proficiency level and EIT Food competencies).
By the end of the course, you‘ll be able to... :
- Recognise the characteristics of “good” learning outcomes (and differentiate between good and poor learning outcomes)
- Construct measurable intended learning outcomes (ILO) for your upcoming course
- Select appropriate activities and assessment aligned with these intended learning outcomes (ILO)
The course is targeted at EIT Food proficiency level practice.
Description of the programme : Two short modules
This course is made up of two short, practical modules and is assessed through two quizzes:
Formative assessment (50% weighted) - Good or bad ILOs - 70% correct required to pass
Summative assessment (50% weighted) - Self-reflect on your course - 100% agreement to pass
You must pass both of these assessments to achieve an EIT Food course certificate.
Career opportunities : A good practice process of learning design
The course will guide you through a good practice process of learning design, complete with hints and tips. You will develop or refresh key educator skills in creating good learning outcomes (course context appropriate, measurable, justified) and designing diverse activities/assessment aligned with these outcomes.
